Wayne SW/MO Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 A roll of Burger summer sausage and some cheese is pretty much the standard for me. Throw in some crackers and maybe some snacks, some beer and some electrolyte "ade". Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
fishinSWMO Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Chief packs sticks and strings for self defense. No, he packs an extra sandwich for the bad guys. They put their guns away for a good sandwich, heard he ran into a whole group of thugs a couple weeks ago and survived. Jeremy Dodson
Feathers and Fins Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 You can tell the Season by the fixens of a trip. Summer is the poor time of year down to PBJ and Trail Mix. But Fall, Winter and Spring its the bounties of the Harvest. Deer, goose and turkey sausage and jerky or sandwiches with the fresh trimmings from the garden. Even bring the portable grill and shore breakfast and lunch. A few more weeks and life will be back to normal. Nice quiet days on the water broken occasionally by the sound of gunfire as the first birds of the season start to fall https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Too many, I hope you harvest some.

Members Slewfoot dan Posted August 12, 2012 Members Posted August 12, 2012 Sometimes it's a really nice Italian sandwich (peperoni, salami, lots of onions and spinach) but mostly I like some sliced summer sausage and good cheese with an apple, usually a cripps pink these days, all washed down with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Best thing to ever come in a can. I pack a 20 oz. powerade and lots of water, too.
Members Slewfoot dan Posted August 12, 2012 Members Posted August 12, 2012 Where do you find Sierra Nevada in a can??? Not that Keystone is bad but S N is way better.
Members Slewfoot dan Posted August 12, 2012 Members Posted August 12, 2012 Usually I bring pbj's a banana, apple and / or crackers & cheese. For overnighters you can add jerky, oatmeal and coffee. Ruger GP 100 and hydrashok idiot stoppers for that .01 percent that won't let you avoid em.

PC is normally the ones i hit in winter when noone else is on the lake, with this years hatch they are everyplace. I think 12 ramp flock will be the first ones with the bow its normally good for 4 or 5 before they head to PC Marina and safety. Opening weekend is about the bow after that the guns come out and series flock thinning goes on. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
junkman Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Usually trail mix and a candy bar for a little energy if in a boat. But most of the time I am a bank fisherman. The last time out it was two ears of corn, a baking tator and a onion. All cooked on a small fire. Don't get much better in my opinion.
