Took the family out to Washington County for the weekend. What great camping weather. I was only able to make it out once. This time I rented a john boat with trolling motor. I was fishing minnows for crappie, but caught a bunch of cats. One really nice one probably 2.5, but maybe three pounds. It was a fun fight on my light gear. I was on the northern end and the pattern seemed to be fishing exposed bushes 20 to 30 feet off the bank. It was so nice out, I busted out the backup oars and oared my way back to the dock. I forgot how much I like that.

Final thought... I know it shouldn't, but it amazes me how people don't do a simple walk around their campgrounds and pick up when they leave.

PS... the Washington County campground is a great place for families if you are looking for a new spot. It is only electric, but the facilities are nice, almost always open spots, and the campground has a dock.
