Guest Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Ive got some of those swimming in the creek behind my house. Lots of redhorse and a few big carp. What should I be using for bait?
Kayser Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 For redhorse- red worms or nightcrawlers on the bottom. For carp, any kind of doughbait with salt and maybe even a fruit smell. Or just a can of sweet corn, with a few kernels on a small hook. Use a light slip-sinker rig for both. You can chum the carp with corn, don't think so with the redhorse. WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
Feathers and Fins Posted August 22, 2012 Author Posted August 22, 2012 I mix my own bait that works great on cats and carp. 8oz dry dog food, 4pc of white bread and 8oz of corn starch add water until it is the same texture as power bait. Been using it for years and always catches fish. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
