Got off work at 6am. Decided to stop by Springfield lake at the outlet for the hell of it, havent been there since June. Caught 2 on a weightless trick worm, 2 on a small swimbait and 1 on a pink fluke.

They were all dinks avg 1lb. Left the area at 6:57am. Missed 3-4 blow ups on a baby spook too.

I went ahead and tried it again after work. Same results. 9 Bass in 1hr 20mins. All were dinks except one maybe 1.5-2lbs. They were loving the pearl color.

Caught one that was about 1lb and as I brung her up she unhooked onto the shore and flipped back into the vegetation nearby. As I reached my hand down to grab her...long behold a dam snake decides to pop out. Scared the crap out of me and I hate snakes. Now I was like "oh hell no" and didnt want to reach down anymore so I just watched the fish shake itself deeper into the vegetation finally into the water below. I thought it had freed itself but 10mins later I hear the fish's tail keep splashing deep in weeds. Guess it wasnt able to swim away through all the vines below. As I looked closer I see that same dam snake twisting its body around and had a grip on the fish. Not sure how it planned to swallow the fish but I decided that's enough snake for one day and called it quits around 7:20am.
