Don't get me started.

One time before the Landing was put in Branson we were fishing of one of the docks when a guy in a bass boat comes flying past close to the dock and for you that know that just down from the bridge was the island that had a rock jetty running from the shore out to the island that was about 6-12 inches under the water. I said I hope he goes on the right side of the island and about that time we hear a loud thud and see him drifting in what used to be the old swimming hole. Another time we waded out to the island and was fishing and we hear WHOA, WHOA, WHOA coming from up by the bridge and first thought it was someone backing a trailer down but then turned just in time to see a pontoon running onto the gravel bar that ran from the shore out to the island about 6 inches deep. People were sitting in lawn chairs on the front deck were thrown of the front when the boat came to a sudden stop, don't think it did as much damage as the guy in the bass boat and no one was hurt.

Beware of small leafy overhanging branches.... Sometimes they hide a 4" diameter broken off branch

Boy I've had some close calls but normally my boat wears the scar not me.

Ouch is right.

I guess I shouldn't take pleasure in others misfortune but have to chuckle a little when I see a jet spew a steady stream of gravel from it's outlet, especially when the operator is completely unaware. I seen 4 boats on BP last month do that on every riffle they went through for miles.

I think the most common stupid mistake has to be the drain plug not being put in.

I know what you meant, but you're talking about stupid, dangerous boaters and I would hope there aren't any on this forum.

The stupidest I heard of was about 10 years ago. A dad was driving a PWC with his 4 year old in lap. He cut in a couple of feet from the shoreline, hit a rock, he and his son were ejected and his 4 year old died from his injuries. He had a lot of water that wasn't dangerous and a rocky shoreline was a common feature on the lake.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
