Petrino is available...$3 million a year, throw in a blond mistress, and he's yours.

Heard a rumor that Kentucky is considering him.

Maybe we'll have Arkansas vs Mizzou in the "Barely Qualifying Bowl". As far as local fan interest it would probably be one of the best bowl options available to these 2 teams. They could have it in Springfield - the Bass Pro Bowl!

If these 2 played each other in a bowl I might watch it.

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Look where Arkansas was with him, and now without, he apparently has Snyder-like powers. Plus he was just taking that chick for a ride (is that so wrong!)

About Snyder and K-State...sometimes you hit a run of luck.

Yeah, but you gotta agree Snyder's pretty special. Lots of top 25s and 10s in over 20 years. One of the best coaches around and had always run a clean program.

Agreed about Snyder.

What you gotta realize if you're talking about getting a new coach, is that there is little chance that any new coach with a new offensive scheme (like the power running game of some of the big boys in the SEC) is going to be very successful the first couple of years. Pinkel's players and recruits are tailored to the spread for the most part, and introducing a new system would just mean them taking at least a year to get it down even if they have the skills to run it. Pinkel has been successful enough that I'm comfortable with allowing him to coach a few more years and then have an orderly, well-planned transition when he retires, which many people expect he'll do within at most 4 or 5 years.

Should be a very interesting game on Saturday against Tennessee...Missouri has the 15th rated passing defense, with legitimate playmakers in E.J. Gaines and Kenronte Walker, among others. Tennessee's offense will likely struggle to put up the 40-50 points that they have almost always needed to stay in games this year. And Tennessee's defense should make even Missouri's struggling offense look pretty potent. It won't matter if four interceptions are thrown...but Franklin has never done that before last week, and what are the chances he does that again?

Could be wrong, but I think Franklin gets back to his old self a bit against what is one of the lower tier defenses in the SEC. It will likely be a wild game, with a final score something like 42-35. I don't have the slightest clue who wins though. I do know that which ever team loses will probably miss a bowl (short of a furious late season push), so it should be a hard fought and exciting game.
