tho1mas Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 If you use a pdf that inflates you should check the instructions. The one I bought states it will not work right if the temp is below 40 degrees. Winter fishermen should also check. Just something else to think about.
jdmidwest Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Interesting, I bought one for duck hunting out of the yak. Come to think of it, CO2 does funny things as it gets colder like freeze up. laker67 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 From what I understand, cold weather reduces the rate that co2 converts to gas, thus allowing the liquid to flow into the pfd chamber. You would think at some point, maybe slowly, that it would still convert to gas and inflate.
jdmidwest Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 If you fall in the water in cold weather, you will not have much time to wait. Back to foam pfds. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
