Idylwilde Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I was lucky enough to have been invited along with Sam Portter of (Tightline Guide Service) to assist the MDC on a trout survey of the Blue Ribbon area from Tan Vat to Baptist Camp. I won't go into what we found but I will say there are some nice Brown Trout and Rainbows to play with in this section of the river. I will say that I am hopeing for some changes to the regulations after the data is compiled and looked at..These guys do a great job and a hard job at doing these survey's. Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
mic Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 I've always wanted to help with one of those.
Members jdixon Posted September 26, 2012 Members Posted September 26, 2012 I would like to know what you found. I think baptist to parker would be interesting to see, lots of good deep water in that stretch.
Gavin Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 My buddy Norm did a write up when we helped out 6-7 years ago. His report is spot on. http://www.streamsid...r-shocking.html
joeD Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I remember that fish. Nice spot. Caught it on a woolly bugger that was dropped below a renegade I think. Norm is the reason I only fish the Current from the wire to above Parker. Based on his stories.
Gavin Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Good advice Joe...that water between Parker and Cedargrove holds no trout that are worth the drive ;>)! No fast food joint, and I cant text while I drive down there.
Members jgentile Posted September 28, 2012 Members Posted September 28, 2012 That's what you guys were doing. I was out with my youngest son on Tues and saw Sam's truck at Baptist and the MDC truck. Nice to hear the river is in good shape. I'm glad we didn't run into you all while you were discharging electricity, lol!
