Justin Spencer Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Sitting here in the rain hoping the river will rise, and found this article while looking at the North Fork watershed to see if rain fell in the right place. Wish I could go back in time for a few months to see what things were like before "whitey" had a chance to mess things up. http://www.watersheds.org/history/schoolcraft2.htm "The problem with a politician’s quote on Facebook is you don’t know whether or not they really said it." –Abraham Lincoln Tales of an Ozark Campground Proprietor Dead Drift Fly Shop
jdmidwest Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 That is an interesting book, but it is written in a hard to follow old english. His travels start near St. Louis, goes thru the Lead Belt, and ends up on the White River System if I recall. I checked it out of a local library years ago and read it. Thanks for reminding me that I need to add that one to my own library. Looking for a copy as we speak. Greasy B Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Found a pdf of it on archive.org. http://archive.org/d...8_Ozark_Journal Thanks for the link. I have only read bits and pieces, I'm looking forward to reading the entire journal. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw.
