Sitting here in the rain hoping the river will rise, and found this article while looking at the North Fork watershed to see if rain fell in the right place.

Wish I could go back in time for a few months to see what things were like before "whitey" had a chance to mess things up.

That is an interesting book, but it is written in a hard to follow old english. His travels start near St. Louis, goes thru the Lead Belt, and ends up on the White River System if I recall. I checked it out of a local library years ago and read it. Thanks for reminding me that I need to add that one to my own library. Looking for a copy as we speak.

It is a modern version of the original I read years ago in the Library. Easier to read.
