Brian K. Shaffer Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Will we continue.. no. Should we get a couple of wins.. YES. Just my .02. Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
moguy1973 Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I predict a win over Atlanta on Friday and then losing to the Nationals in 4 games in the division series -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Brian K. Shaffer Posted October 3, 2012 Author Posted October 3, 2012 WELL.. we are in... I predict we lose to ATL. Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
Quillback Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Should be fun to watch, anyone know who is pitching?
moguy1973 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Matheny said Lohse will start Friday against Atlanta. Should be a good game since Atlanta hasn't lost in 23 starts when the pitcher they are starting starts (Kris Medlen)... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 4, 2012 Root Admin Posted October 4, 2012 I think the pressure is on Atlanta. They haven't been in a playoff game in a while, St Louis has nothing to prove - by all rights, they haven't played well enough to be there (new format only puts them there). Atlanta I would think may choke and not hit well. We'll see. I think they'll beat Atlanta 4-2 and then get by the Nationals in 4 or 5. Again, inexperience will hurt Washington. Cincinnati... not sure. I St Louis they have a good chance there too.
Quillback Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Doesn't seem to be a strong favorite in the NL, if the Cards don't get bit by this one game play-in deal they stand a chance.
cnr Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Well, they pulled one out tonight thanks to some key errors by Atlanta. The infield fly rule was kind of questionable but in the end I don't think it made any difference. I'm looking forward to the upcoming games with the nationals. Starting at home may give the Cards the edge to jump out to a quick lead.
Quillback Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Yeah the Braves blew it with fielding errors, that infield fly ruling was very questionable, but the errors is what did them in. Home plate ump was really arbitrary on low pitches in the strike zone, some were strikes, some were balls - very inconsistent on the calls, that got the fans upset, then the infield fly ruiling set the fans off. I hope that from now on we get good and consistent umpiring, hate to see games screwed up by bad calls.
Justin Spencer Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Hate it for Chipper, great player that goes out in a most unusual game. Without his error it's very possible the Cards never would have got anything going. Then to see his final game marred by poor fan behavior makes things even worse. Glad to see the Cards through, now anything is possible.
