ruthead Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Very nice fish. Cool to spot it than catch it!! "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
Bman Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 Very nice fish. Cool to spot it than catch it!! Spotting them, and fishing for that one fish is the way to go for me. I love the process of sight fishing... The only good line is a tight line
Members gwh Posted May 5, 2013 Members Posted May 5, 2013 Bman what line would you recommend for the 5 weight Bank Robber?
Micheal Kyle Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 Great fish!!! I would be interested in that sage z-axis I can add it to my collection of Sage rods. I also be interested in knowing what line you are casting and roll casting on it. In my own opinion and casting a lot of rods I feel there is no better casting rod out there in the fast action category. To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Members rogerdodger Posted May 13, 2013 Members Posted May 13, 2013 Very nice fish.......but having built and fished with darn near every hi-end rod made, starting with the wonderful Scott G series in the 80's the Z-Axis rods are truly something special. Tell ya what, I have a new in case St.Croix 10ft 6wt Ultra 2 4pc. rod that will roll cast a mile, it's fresh from the factory I'll take that shoddy Z-Axis off your hands. BTW, line weight and taper design have much more to do with roll casting than rod design. Try putting on a spey line and see how far you can roll cast.........
Bman Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Guy’s Sorry, I haven’t logged on O.A. in a while. I sold this rod. Micheal, The line was a SA Mastery Series GPX. I’m sure the roll casting was no fault of the rod. Any rod I pick up exceeds my casting skills. Gwh, the line on the Bank Robber was a SA mastery textured “GPX taper”. This line really seemed to do the job for a novice like me. The only good line is a tight line
Bman Posted June 29, 2013 Author Posted June 29, 2013 This is something that the folks at St Croix recently put up on their site. This may help explain what I liked about the Bank Robber. The only good line is a tight line
