Feathers and Fins Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 well well that stinks. can you usually throw flies to walleye? When they are shallow or near the right structure, YES. You can also troll for them and stripers using sinking line ( started in Cali back in the late 90's by Bob Slammal <sp>) on Lake Skinner and has become very popular. White shad imitation flies. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
jeb Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 We were trolling with lead line on the upper Mississippi starting back in the 70's or 80's. Great technique for 'eyes. John B 08 Skeeter SL210, 225F Yamaha
chris3179 Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 never heard of that. i've got ton's of clousers and shad patterns, so i think i will give it whirl. any tips?
Feathers and Fins Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 Let your line out 100ft and troll at 2 to 2.5 mph, its real simple I fished with Bob a few times for the stripers that way and normally outfished bait and other lure guys. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Thanks for the tips. I have a feeling my 5 weight is going to need an upgrade.
1969Larson Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 How about topwater for walleye? Had a skinny 21-incher hit a pencil popper in just a few feet of water yesterday.
