Hard to plan a trip with a 4.5 hour drive for the water to run nearly round the clock.

We were down 3 weekends ago and they ran one unit the whole time for 5 days.

It's no wonder the fly shop went under.

Can't they run a couple units at night and off during the day instead 1 unit continuously?

Should have been down two weekends ago...we were hoping for generation and good water flows and they had it shut down all weekend!!

Just goes to show that no matter what they do they can't make us all happy at the same time.

Plenty of "natural" trout rivers that won't screw you over. The only one controlling water flow on these is mother nature.

Ahh, the vagaries of the White. We love it. We hate it. But we'll always come back.

PS: If the generation schedule was known in advance, then, wouldn't the river be even more crowded?

Best thing to do is to bring waders and a boat- just be prepared to fish however you have to. Of course, thats easier said than done if you do not have a boat (like me).
