Is this a bad idea or would it be no big deal??? also, would whitten be so crowded a guy would have a hard time getting in and out of there??? any thoughts out there....was going to be in the area and would like to get a line wet but not interested in dodging bullets!!!

They have placed new rocks around the ramp area to block the campers out of the area. Of course, that was 2 weeks ago and will probably not deter a dedicated deer hunter long.

As long as you do not wander far from the stream bank and wear orange, you should do good. The river is so low that jet boat traffic was nil when we were there. And we tore a hole in ours.

Yep, about 4 knuckles worth. Was running a shoal and grazed a big rock, split the transom away from the bottom about 6 inches wide.

We watched the only other boat that day at Riverton come in with 2 nice holes in his.

A blaze orange float can be good........but dont camp on first island below Greer...some folks like to shoot from the bank to that Island. Acess points will be full of hunters but little in between.

I should be fine where I like to fish(narrows). I hope to be going out there soon.

Are the river camps usually full up? We're planning to be down there too, fly rods and guns in the boat to take advantage of all the area has to offer.

Friends boat, he is getting it fixed. Ripped the trolling motor off the bow and clogged the water pump that day too. Bad day for the old boat.

We floated Riverton to the Narrows that weekend too after downing the boat in kayaks and canoes. I would say there are some tricky spots down that way too, especially around the spring branch above narrows. Fishing was ok. Need alot of rain.
