strangercreek Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 I am not against it. There have been countless arguments to complicate the issue of course. I look at it this way, I have to show a photo ID to go to another country, drive a car, write a check (sometimes), or buy a 17lb box of cereal from Costco. Voting is serious business and it seems really obvious to me that a simple ID that proves you are legal is just common sense Just my .02
Wayne SW/MO Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I agree, and given the fact that they can be had for free, I don't see why anyone would oppose it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
jdmidwest Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Oh, Oh, I just have to say it. So the Liberals can have the vote now, vote often, again.......Like in St. Louis a few years back, remember that? No offense to anyone, just had to post to this one. Some soldier gave his life for that right today.... "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
gonefishin Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 They are easy to get and free. Why should anyone be put out. A person has to show a lot more ID just to go to the Dr. Not having ID just encourages illegals to vote. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Benjamin Franklin, 1759
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted October 25, 2006 Root Admin Posted October 25, 2006 No Brainer... My grandpa voted 4 times while he has in a nursing home via grandma and if she could of- a couple times after he passed. Sorry- it's a long-time family joke. I come from a long line of Texas Conservative Dems.
Danoinark Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 We've been showing ID's here in Arkansas to vote for the last couple of elections. I sure don't have a problem with it...Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
Kansas Fly Fisher Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I don't see the problem with it either. There free and easy to get (providing you are legal). And, like it's been said, there are a lot of lesser important things that require a photo ID, so why not voting! It's probably the most important thing we can do as americans. Terry Beeson Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Last time I went to vote in Arkansas it went like this... Poll worker: "You got any ID?' Me: "'bout whut?" (You know us hillbillies...) You have to register to vote. These days you have to register, with an ID, for a lot of things. Yes, it is a right and privilege to vote... and I want that soldier who died for that right to have NOT done so so some chicken peddler can go gather up all his illegals and take them to the polls to make sure HIS candidates and issues pass... YES to voter ID.... MTM Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 You have to have ID to vote in my state and that is the way it sould be. A few years back there was a special on TV about the voting in a county in Southern Claifornia and how many people were not even residents of this country and were voting. Seems that there were so many that there votes canceled out all of the votes made in my state. Now that is a lot of illegal votes in my book. And they are keeping my vote from counting. Thus I think that anyone wanting to protect people so they do not need an ID are in truth wanting the votes because they know that those votes will go one way, Democratic. Now that is the truth of the matter because the county I am talking of is just about 80 percent Mexican and all vote Democrat. Not saying all Democrats are this way but they sure are in California an if it cancels out my vote then I have a right to be real sore. Ron
Terry Beeson Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Arkansas' voter motto prior to 1990: "Vote early, and vote often!" The ID check has slowed that down significantly...
