Al Agnew Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Got out today on the Meramec. Water temps 46-49 degrees. Water super clear and low. Caught about 20 fish, no big ones but 7 or 8 between 14 and 16 inches. Mostly on jerkbaits. Some of the smaller fish were in surprisingly strong current.

Mitch f Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 But easy for the gig bite Totally agree, but the water has been so low it's buying us time. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor

drew03cmc Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 This migration makes me laugh. Migration entails a return trip. Fish wander, that is what they do. Few remain in the same pools their whole life, but yes, it does happen. Andy
Mitch f Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 This migration makes me laugh. Migration entails a return trip. Fish wander, that is what they do. Few remain in the same pools their whole life, but yes, it does happen. Well the tagging study conducted by the MDC proves they travel up to 70 miles. Where's your hard data? Chief Grey Bear Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 We have always known some fish move around. Nobody disputes that. Putting some money tags on them only confirms what we already knew. The only way you will prove true migration is with radio tagging over a minimum of 3 yrs. Preferably 5 yrs. And it is my understanding that is what the MDC is doing.
