Members shedhunter Posted November 8, 2012 Members Posted November 8, 2012 Hey, Im new around here. I'm going fishing in the morning. I live around the James River. Specificall river cut. Any fishing holes anyone would want to share with me to catch something besides dinks? I would really like to hook into a quality fish, as I have been fishing down there for a few years and never caught anything real nice. Just fish to fish. I could also go to lake Springfield. I just was wondering about some new spots if anyone is willing to share. PM me if its not public. Also is it too cold? What should I fish with when I go? TO both places? Thanks, Logan
Jerry Rapp Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 I don't live there and haven't fished there in 5 yrs. Put on a wiggle wart and a spinnerbait and fish windy banks. It works everywhere, and it will be windy tomorrow.
Mitch f Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I thought you needed pointer minnows from your topic!!, BTW, that's exactly what you should be throwing right now "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
RSBreth Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 If you had a canoe or kayak and got away from where everyone else fishes you'd do better - the James has some good Smallmouth in it. Lake Springfield has some nice Largemouth's, too - but again, you aren't gonna catch many from the shore.
