Members soxpac Posted November 12, 2012 Author Members Posted November 12, 2012 Know what you mean & felt the pain " IN MY WALLET " every time I bought a spool of FLUOR. Then to add insult to injury on the back-cast it breaks & a $16.00 LUCKY CRAFT JERK BAIT go's AWOL or breaks on the hook set with a jig & I almost launch myself off the front deck !!!!!!! Till it fails me YO-ZURI HYBRID !!!!!!! Still a TRILENE man, love their BIG GAME for flipping, it just don't break. Do use Yo-ZURi for topwater or is it too heavy? Jerry Rapp Posted November 12, 2012 Posted November 12, 2012 my 2 cents. After years of trying them all, I have been using 12 lb Big Game for 50% of my fishing, 15 lb maxima green for topwater, spinnerbaits, buzzers, rattle trap type baits, and Viscous 15lb flouro for finesse jigs because of the sensitivity(improved clinch knot, but spit on it before snugging it down). Spinning reels, 8lb mono, I use a generic brand (drag set light), and for ultra light 4 or 2 lb test mono. I am 55 years old, and have caught more fish in the last 4 years than the 10 prior using this agenda. After I went to this agenda, no more unexplained break offs, with using mono for the most part when I need a new bulk spool of line I don't need to refinance the house to get it. By the way, keep all of your line out of direct light as much as possible. Keep the bulk spools in a drawer, and put the rods you used in a day of fishing away in the rod box or closest when you get home.

Nitroman Posted November 13, 2012 Posted November 13, 2012 Do use Yo-ZURi for topwater or is it too heavy? YO-ZURI HYBRID is OK for top water but I would suggest MAXIMA MONO. Rock View Resort Table Rock Lake Greg Pope, Owner/Operator & Fishing Guide
gramps50 Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I have been using Sufix Elite on my casting reels in 10# test. I like the way it casts and handles. It has very little memory, and casts very well in cold weather as well as warm weather. I have been using Sufix Elite on my spinning reels and been very happy with it, doesn't seem to have much memory and KVD L&L helps too.
Members soxpac Posted November 25, 2012 Author Members Posted November 25, 2012 I have decided to go with Sufix Siege on all my reels except for my pitching rods and Bama-Swimbait rod. Vanish cost me a Lucky Craft this weekend. Done!!! The gods do not deduct from man's allotted span the hours spent in fishing. ~Babylonian Proverb
rps Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Good heavens I love an intelligent discussion! I was a long time Maxima fan until I found YoZuri Hybrid. Stronger and smaller line at the same basic line price. Tackle Tour's reviews have loved YoZuri. I fish topwater almost every day and the YoZuri is fine. For day to day I fish the 10 pound test green. For walleye crawler harnesses, I use 12 pound clear.
405z06 Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 I tried Berkley Nanofil for the 1st time in 8# on one of my spinning reels this summer. I couldn't believe how far the stuff casts. And It seems very strong, difficult to break off. I've been using Vanish Transition in 12# for my baitcasting reels. More out of habit than any commitment I have to it.
