Outside Bend Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Check it out: How's My Stream? You can search by zip code or city/state and check out water quality and pollution issues for streams across the country. <{{{><
fishinwrench Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 "Unassessed/Condition unknown" I assume that it is a work in progress? Data for the ones I searched are available through mostreamteam.org so the info IS out there. Accuracy is questionable though.
ness Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Thanks for the link, OB. It's nice to know my local 'secret spot' is crawling with e-coli, lead, chlordane, fecal stuff, and other things too nasty to mention here on the web. John
Tim Smith Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 Thanks for the link, OB. It's nice to know my local 'secret spot' is crawling with e-coli, lead, chlordane, fecal stuff, and other things too nasty to mention here on the web. That says a lot when you can mention fecal material but there are other things out there too nasty to mention. You're right though. There's nasty. Then there's nasty.
fishinwrench Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 The summary on the Osage river makes me wanna cry. Yet amazingly fish still swim there.
ness Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Man, if there's something nastier than fecal material, I wanna know about it. The sooner the better. I already feel like I'll need a Haz-Mat suit before I can even get close to my little crick again. John
Tim Smith Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Well, this was supposed to be your list, Ness...but if we're mentioning unmentionables and you're close enough to a bridge in town there's usually a pretty fair assortment of those strewn about the place.. Throw in a few bags of puppies and kittens and computers and appliances nobody wanted either... ...then the porn magazines that probably required multiple felonies to produce... Then once you're really into it, there are the feminizing hormones, the odd meth head, the redneck who flunked out of Sunday school, toxic algae...I think the EPA samples for the rest.
