Fished out of Jeb's boat yesterday, we launched at 0600 and fished until 1300. We found a good jig bite early on steep, chunk rock banks, the bass being for the most part right up on the bank. We also picked up a couple on the spinner bait whenever there was a slight breeze to riffle the water. later in the morning it started to get really tough, flat calm, no wind, bright blue sunny skies, just tough conditions. We ended up with around 15 or so, all in the 13-15" range.

Foliage is pretty much done, wind blew all the leaves off last week.

No wind + bright skies on The Rock = darn tough.

We fished out of Big M yesterday (Nov. 18). Enjoyed the time and, in spite of tough conditions, caught them all day. Around 30, 12 keeps probably 12-13 lbs. Mostly fat spots. A couple of LM and two meanmouth. One was a bruiser and beautiful. Bright sun and slick most of the day. Had a little wind off and on, but not much. Had to be on some pretty vertical stuff to get bit - bluff walls, steep big rock. Champ188 couldn't get any takers on the blade, even when there was some wind. Caught nearly everything on a finesse jig and shaky head. Being the jig fan that I am, I just HATED that. Really. :) Stayed on the water until 5:00 p.m., but didn't start until after daylight.

Saw a big dang bobcat crossing the road as we were going in to the ramp and nearly whacked an 8-point with the GMC on the way home. Oh, and saw a mink running the banks. Quite the wildlife day. I'm a lucky girl.

Thanks Quill, we worked long and hard for 'em. They're still schooled up. We'd go an hour without catching one then hit a pack of 'em and catch 4-6 pretty quick. Enjoyed the day but doggone it I'm ready for one of those good ol' dark, windy, chunk-and-wind a spinnerbait from daylight to dark deals. Gotta be coming soon. We had a warm fall like this 4-5 years ago and just when I thought there wouldn't be a blade bite that year, they got on it around the first of December and chomped it til Christmas.

Bout time for the deep ones to get on the spoon, and the Whites should be a gathering out threre also.

James tried a spoon a little bit on some he saw on the graph. No takers. They were schooling and going back to the bottom. They ignored the topwater offering, too. Frustrating.
