gotmuddy Posted November 30, 2012 Author Posted November 30, 2012 I doubt if there are many rainbow below Riverton. Water warms very quickly. I disagree. halfway between riverton and the narrows my wife caught a 15" rainbow in august last year. With colder weather the colder water extends down into arkansas. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
LittleRedFisherman Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 On a trip at the narrows last year, my buddy Chad hooked a big fish, probably close to 20 inches. He got it to the boat, and we got a good look at before it spit out the jig, we all agreed it looked like a rainbow. We where about a mile or so above the 142 bridge. Like you said, it was cold and the trout might of moved farther south. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!

Like you said, it was cold and the trout might of moved farther south. And the springs around the Narrows lower the water temp. As a rule, no stocking is done below Riverton. But trout will move and get displaced in floods. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
