Members scubanut Posted February 9, 2007 Members Posted February 9, 2007 Bushwacker lake in SW Missouri on the Barton county line is some of the best redear fishing in the Midwest. Lots of fish and good size too. Also, great pan-fishing for 'gills and black crappie (limit of 30). Light pressure on the lake with lots of timber and a good boat ramp.
damselfly Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 OH NO- the secret is out!!! ah,,,,bushwacker,,,,,it dont have no fish......fa get about it!
Members BuschTrout22 Posted May 22, 2007 Members Posted May 22, 2007 Check out lake dixie in Columbia, MO.. They have everything from redear to bluegill, bass and crappie. Wayne SW/MO Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 It amazes me the number and size of G'eye's in TR. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Terry Beeson Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 World Record Redear is 5 lb, 7 oz... MO record is 2 lb, 7 oz from Whetstone Creek... AR record is 2 lb, 14 oz from Lake Bois d'Arc... Go get'em boys!! Bring the fillets to me and we'll have a big fish fry!!! Danimal Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 There's a country club golf course about 4 blocks from my house and I've been told the ponds on it hold some huge redears (along with some rather nice largemouth bass). One of these days I'm gonna conjur up enough nerve for a little undercover night-time flyfishin'. Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Terry Beeson Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Just watch out for blind golfers... they play at night... and their aim ain't that good... Quillback Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Funny that you guys brought this topic up, did some Redear and Bluegill fishing this Saturday on one of the Bella Vista lakes. Here's a Redear and a Bluegill.

Here's a Redear and a Bluegill. Nice ones. When you need someone to go with you let me know. I have heard the Bella Vista lakes have some good gills and crackers. I really need to come down and check them out. I would rather be fishin'. "Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." Quillback Posted May 23, 2007 Posted May 23, 2007 OK, Gone, I'll keep you in mind. Not that I'm an expert on these lakes, this is my first year here. Once these fish have moved off the beds they'll probably be tougher to find.
