Feathers and Fins Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Bushwacker is a fun lake to play on. stick to the south end timber, there are many little pothole ponds people dont even know about in SWMO that are open to public. I explore many of them never expecting a bite and when i get one i call it a great day. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
MSUFisherBear Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 F&F - Thanks for the tip. To me, any time I wet a line, I have to call it a great day There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving
ollie Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Just an update on Shawnee Trails, I went yesterday and did pretty good in the morning until the wind drove me off the lake! Ended up with 6 bass total in about 2 hours. First ones came pretty fast as it seemed then things got slower as the wind picked up. Most fish I caught were in the slot too so that was pretty fun catching some nicer ones. All bass and nothing else as well. When I was taking out 3 other guys were about to put on with yaks until they saw what a hard time I was having. At the parking lot I talked with another fellow and his boy caught a real nice one last week he said off the bank. The main lure for me was a chart/pumpkin lizard. Water is stained as well from all the rain. Good day until the wind got really strong. I will be back again soon though! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
MSUFisherBear Posted April 15, 2013 Author Posted April 15, 2013 Haven't been out yet this spring. I have been debating the fact, but I am thinking that the best option is to wait a bit until some of this forsaken wind slows. It's been an odd spring for weather, and one I haven't necessarily wanted to chance yet. There is certainly something in angling that tends to produce a serenity of the mind. ~Washington Irving
Members sublimez Posted May 22, 2013 Members Posted May 22, 2013 Are you guys fishing the main 9ish Acre lake Pin Oak Lake? Or hitting some of the other bodies. I've had a little luck with some largemouth bass in this main lake but have yet to fish any of the other areas there. Now that I have a kayak I plan on doing some exploring. I did see one strip pit that looked really nice, may explore some of them on my vacation next week.
