Im not a very good crappie fisherman, but I would like to give it a try.

I know the lake is really low and most of the brushpiles are on dry land.

What type of structure do I need to look for at Beaver?

Im assumaing the cool water temps have them in deep water or at least nearby.

Do they school with the other fish?

Im proabably going to give Blue Springs a try this weekend.

Any advice would help.

Thanks

Well Trophy I'm hoping you do well so you can tell me how to catch crappie in Beaver.

Have you thought about coming over here to Bella Vista and trying Avalon? 2 years ago they stocked several thousand 5" crappie in Avalon, don't know how many survived, but it's worth a shot. There's brush piles all over that lake. I caught a 17" crappie in Avalon this spring on a jerkbait while bass fishing. Released it, maybe it's still in there.

Those are open water crappie at BV.

So its the same scenario that Im faced with at beaver.

At least its closer, so if I strike out then I havent burnt much gas in the truck.

Plus, theres always a chance I catch a loner walleye or channel cat at beaver.

Between the islands on the right hand side coming from PC there is a cut with a giant brush pile in it that holds a lot of crappie. Seems to be more down in War eagle then anywhere else on the lake.

Well good luck, let us know how you do, not that I expect any secret info, just want to know if you get any.

BTW they stocked Saugeye in Avalon a couple of years ago, the lakes Bio netted one at 17" this fall.
