Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 31, 2012 Root Admin Posted December 31, 2012 I got out for an hour last evening... first time in 2 weeks. Boated to above the narrows and started with a #16 zebra. Trout were all over the surface- tiny midges coming off in clouds but my midge was too big. Too lazy to change... caught one and missed several. Then discovered my hook was bent. By then I was at the flats. Tied on a #12 scud and worked it on the bottom, mainly on the channel drop and caught several rainbows- a couple of nice ones.
Terry Beeson Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I won't be making it down this year... Cindy is off and we are headed to Downstream to bring in 2013 there... Ya'll have a good one though! I'm sure the weather will be great this year since I won't be there... Jack Jones Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Looks like it's gonna be a cold one. Flurries and a whopping high of 32. Wow. If I go, it may not be for too long. Probably won't be making food this year since it's not a definite that I'm going. What time is everyone congregating? Noon? Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 1, 2013 Root Admin Posted January 1, 2013 It's really not that cold out this am. No wind. I was expecting cold and ice this morning.
duckydoty Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Not bad at all compared to what we've been dealing with duck hunting the last couple of days. I'll be on my way in about 30 minutes. Duck poppers are all rolled and ready to grill! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Jack Jones Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Okay, I was a lazy bum. I never set an alarm and, for once in a great while, my three year old slept late. Which means, I got to also. Didn't even get my butt out of bed until 11:30. Looked at the temperature. It's 27 degrees out. I don't care what Phil says, that's cold! Hope everyone who did go had a good time and caught a lot. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 1, 2013 Root Admin Posted January 1, 2013 Yes it was cold. It got colder as time passed through the noon hour. I didn't dress well enough either. Poppers were wonderful, snacks abundant, peach cobbler!! and sensational Jambalaya!!! It's snowing now... I just beat it home. Brian - be careful driving home today!
duckydoty Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Had a good time down there today and got to enjoy great food and even better company. Started the 1st day of the year off right with both rainbow and browns. Looking forward to next year! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at..
