Gavin Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Nothing wrong with a picture of a 12" fish...if someones holding it and smiling. An endless parade of here's another 12" fish I caught...gets old. Some pics from the Meramec last Friday with Coldwater & Hoff. Coldwaters the one in the Elmer Fudd hat holding up the 12"er. Hoff is in Camo.
stlfisher Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I post very few pictures. I use my phone for most stuff, and it sorta seems silly to pay for internet when I can use my phone for just about everything.

You guys are having way too much fun, wishI could've gone that day! for the record, I don't really care if someone posts a 12" smallmouth pic "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Al Agnew Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I take a lot of pictures, but don't post many, not because I think they are too boring or whatever, but because it's just not convenient for me to do so. I always carry a digital point and shoot, and use it rather than my cell phone. At home, I'm usually posting from the living room on my little netbook, but the pictures are stored in the studio on an external hard drive hooked up to my desktop computer that I use in my work. And although all the computers in the house are supposed to be networked, most of the time I can't access the photos from my netbook. So in order to post photos, I have to go into the studio and work on the desktop, and at night when I'm on here, that's just too much trouble. Also, Mary tends to get a little ticked off sometimes if I'm off somewhere else instead of spending the time at least in the same room with her. Our usual nightly routine is that she turns on an old Turner Classic movie, or rents a movie, or watches Project Runway or some cooking show, while both of us are browsing the web and talking to each other about the day or about what we're seeing on the web. So...guilty as charged, but I do have some kind of excuse!
LittleRedFisherman Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I take lots of pictures usually, because for me, i don't get to fish as much as I like to. The main reason I do, isn't just to post them, but years and decades down the road, looking back at old pics is a neat deal. I"ve taken it a step farther and have been taking a gopro camera with me, it wears on my cap, and it easy to take vids, and also snaps quick picks. Takes very little time to do so, doesn't effect the release of the fish much at all for me. I'm not on the river near as much as many of you, except this time of year maybe, so it's a very special thing for me to be out there. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Chief Grey Bear Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 There's an element of truth in most statements, no matter how small. But... Not sure who it kicks in the gut?! I agree with Gavin, who wants to see the picture of another 12" fish?...Tell a good trip report or story describing how many fish you caught along with the scenery pics and add one or two pictures of the nicer fish pics. Who wants to read a story that ends "So in total we ended up with 15 fish, including a nice fat 18" smallmouth, BTW, I'm including the picture of a 9" smallie that went for my rooster tail" Mostly those from St. Lou side of the state. It is no secret that those from that side won't even post a report unless it has at least one large fish. I thought this was a fishing forum not a bragging board? When was the last time you even posted a fishing report Chief? Did you include pictures?
cnr Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I like it when folks post photos of the outing not just the fish. It's kinda cool to see what everyone looks like and the places they fish. I really like the Meramec shots above. To me it's not about posting fish photos but photos of a good time you had.
Chief Grey Bear Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 When was the last time you even posted a fishing report Chief? Did you include pictures? I didn't think we were talking numbers of reports? But to answer your question, it has been a while. But even at that, it is more reports than you. Since you like being a junior dicktetive, find a report I posted that I didn't include photos. And don't claim those post that the info as been lost due to Phil changing servers.
