Bird Watcher Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 I have been trying really hard to be a good boy this year. I know there was one that one time when the OL was doing the dishes and I goosed her as I walked by, but I apologized and I think she was ok with it. I may have also been responsible for a curse word that my 4 year old daughter started saying, but I explained why it was wrong and she has stopped. So here is what I'm asking. Please, Please, Please let the White Death of Storm Draco blanket Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Please also let the next round of Storm Euclid continue to pummel the same states with layers of frozen precipitation. Please let the horde from the North descend upon the grain fields of Missouri with reckless abandon and hungry bellies. It has been so long since I've seen them and I really think that I and my waterfowling brethren would really appreciate a visit from them. That's it. That's all I want. If I get that I'll be a happy man.
Feathers and Fins Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 PS, Santa you use reindeer to get around on Christmas Eve and if we dont have birds we might mistake them for a DUCK. Signed I sure will miss Rudolph https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
BilletHead Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 Dear Santa, Mr. and Mrs. BilletHead have been very good this year although I like Mrs. BilletHead to be a bit naughty at times For the first time in our 35+ years together we choose not to deer hunt as we were afraid we might accidentally hit one of your reindeer. But the freezer was still full of deer. We also ask for the deep freeze to drop south. I Really think the good folks north of would like a white Christmas with icicles hanging from there houses especally the ones of Norwegian decent that populated the great white north. My grandma was one of them and she liked snow. (she liked the grouse when they ate the fermented crab apples from the tree in her yard, They would fly into the side of the house when drunk. She would just go out and hit them with a stick!) Please grant our Christmas wishes, we will have seared duck done rare/medium rare on a plate with a glass of zinfandel waiting for you on the night you arrive. jdmidwest Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Just looked at the forecast coming up, Santa may be dropping your presents. Looks like sleet and snow here on Christmas day. Might have to deliver some steel pellets to the ducks on Christmas and make me happy. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Justin Spencer Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I heard geese all day yesterday ahead of the front, I'm heading south of Stuttgart this weekend to hunt, don't have great expectations, but hopefully this weather will push a few new ducks down. Feathers and Fins Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Blowing 20 to 30 with gust to 40+ aint no way im trying the big lake today but tomorrow morning Im going to give it a shot. Justin, there are more geese down there than i have seen in many years, birds that were there are stale as 10 day old bread left in the sun, if new birds came in it should be good. My buddy said two days ago they had swore a spoonie was sitting out in the pond with a range finder giving them the finger as he was running land control for other ducks. They know the range from the blind. If you have a field with green in it shoot the specks. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
