shockley32 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 It was less than a week since the last trip, but with the weather chaning thought I better get out. Started at 9:30 AM and finished with the 30th keeper at 12:00 sharp. What an amazing 2.5 hours of fishing! The fish wanted the jig and wanted it bad, there were no doubts when you got bit - hammered it hard. Because of the wind I fished channel edges which provided a S to SE protection. Stayed right on the edge in 20 of water and caught all the fish just off the bottom. Color didn't seem to matter much - white, red/white, glo chart, blue, pink, shad, blue/white, yellow/white. This weather may goof them up a little but as soon as the wind slows some I'm heading back out! Good luck and hope you catch a boat load. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
Dutch Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I am really surprised that you can find them so shallow down there this late in the year.
shockley32 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 I've been catching winter crappie in 10-20 of water the last three years. A couple of weeks ago I caught several in 11' of water, 5' deep. The fish don't seem to mind much, I think we just think it shouldn't be that way. Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
grizwilson Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Dad gum, You the man Brad. I am jealous, but will get out there soon. Thanks for the report. g “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
