It was less than a week since the last trip, but with the weather chaning thought I better get out. Started at 9:30 AM and finished with the 30th keeper at 12:00 sharp. What an amazing 2.5 hours of fishing! The fish wanted the jig and wanted it bad, there were no doubts when you got bit - hammered it hard.

Because of the wind I fished channel edges which provided a S to SE protection. Stayed right on the edge in 20 of water and caught all the fish just off the bottom. Color didn't seem to matter much - white, red/white, glo chart, blue, pink, shad, blue/white, yellow/white. This weather may goof them up a little but as soon as the wind slows some I'm heading back out!

Good luck and hope you catch a boat load.

I am really surprised that you can find them so shallow down there this late in the year.

I've been catching winter crappie in 10-20 of water the last three years. A couple of weeks ago I caught several in 11' of water, 5' deep. The fish don't seem to mind much, I think we just think it shouldn't be that way.
