IBT, there are alot of good fishermen that post on here , and yes some have pretty big egos but to me thats what its all about, trying to get as good as some of the rest of these guys. As far as the fishing reports I dont want a detailed, get down to nitty gritty report. I want to try and figure some of it out for myself.

I started Trout fishing again when I started reading about the fun these guys were having and have learned alot about fly fishing too.But I'm still not confident enough to leave my spinning gear at home.I'll get there some day.

The DRAMA, you can take or leave it. If someone says something that I don't agree with I will probably respond. If someone is bashing people I know I will respond. I dont know why I do , just a character flaw I guess .

Its a Great Forum just the way it is !!

I think the site is great just as it. It is not all fishing reports and that is great because it allows people from all over the country or even world with all the various time zones a place to stay in contact. If it were regulated to fishing report in SE MO only there would be days with very few posts. Phil has given us a great site where a person can find the information they want. The only thing I can say to Ibt is if you like someone elses site better is C'YA around

I would rather be fishin'.

Phil I think that you a great job with site and I think that there is some very good information on here. I would like to say that there is some drama but who cares that what make the site interesting.

I would like to say that I have not been posting my fishing reports for 2 reasons for the past 5-6 weeks I have been very busy and been sick I think that someone has a VOODO DOLL with my face on it. And plus the fishing has been slow. I will however when I do post a report try and make it accruate and educational at the same times.

I think that the forum is made up of some vetreans and some newbies and maybe that kind of enviroment may make people clash. Because the newbie thinks that the people that have fished forever are with holding information and the old guy that has fished forever just assumes the information is already known.

So lets all just get along and realize that we are after the same end result CATCHING FISH AND HAVING FUN.

Please don't take any of the comments as an affront to your posts. I think all you have to do is just ask and most people here will respond if they have an answer about the latest hot location, fly/lure etc. I know I don't have a problem telling that information. Some though are sensitive to it. But I just bet you will get an honest answer if you ask. The hard part is giving the correct information for one day and the next day it becomes just the opposite. You have to remember that this is a tailwater and conditions change from day to day if not sooner. The generation along with the differing water levels play an important part in how its fished each time out. I have answered posts about generation schedules when folks ask about wading. Just because the Corps didn't run any water all week, doesn't mean it won't happen the next day. That's part of the challenge too. Just ask I think you will get an answer. Just have fun. It's certainly more than about catching fish. Thanks for your interest and your posts. Dano

I have not been on here long but find it very informing. I like the idea of listing all the rivers and lakes in a several state are. You can ask a question and most times get an answer. At times there are posts like the Missouri Prop 2 thread but you sure don't have to read those. It is election time and you are bound to get those now and then. Just don't read it. That is one thing that amazes me. People gripe about what is on a board but "WHY" do they read it? Never could figure that one out unlesss it is so they can just gripe about it. If you don't like something don't read it.

I will give Phill a big pat on the back and say "Great Job" I realy like this site. I do not live in the area but I am from north eastern Arkansas and it makes it easy for me to keep track on how the fishing is in the area.

Good site Good poeple you can't ask for much more than that.

Phil,

Thanks for a great site. BTW, maps of Taney help a great deal. Please keep up the good work.

There has been more drama here on this site in the last 3 months than ever before. It seems that there are some people out there that think that they have to prove how great you are in the industry of fishing. You have nothing to prove except to yourself, and if they think that by typing about fishing here on the forum that makes them well known then I do not know what to think.

Drama? What drama? Seriously though that's what makes this site so entertaining and informative. Sometimes there are disagreements but so what? It's just fishing after all not life or death. I agree there is a lot of information to wade through but once you know the site it's really not that difficult IMHO. I really don't know how the site could be done better. I even enjoy the non-fishing topics like the one Phil started regarding stem cell research. It was very informative.

Regarding members showing their bigger fish and telling about the good times they've had - I think that's great. I enjoy things like that. I've been "guilty" of posting and showing some of the better fish I've caught and telling about some of my better days. But I don't look on that as trying to prove how great I am and don't view others posts that way either.

lbt - would you want Phil to try to control the content of what is posted? There are some sites that operate that way. Sites where the administrator jumps in at the slightest sign of trouble and even at times threatens to kick someone off the board for some imagined infraction. Do we want that here? I certainly don't.

This is a good forum...and something that makes a forum good is that it's in a constant state of flux. Sure, it has changed, but I think it has only gotten better. I have a low number, which I guess makes me an early member, and the forum has changed since it started, but I believe it is better. I don't post much, because I don't fish regularly. But..reading everyone else makes the time away bearible, and I can look forward with anticipation of my next trip.

Like anyone else who posts here, no matter how I may try to help by sharing experiences, good or bad, I always end up learning more than I can ever give back. This thread is a good example of how the forum has changed. This latest controversy has all happened since my last visit this afternoon. I've seen topics take off before, like shuffling, or when a developer is poluting the White below Norfolk, etc. The quick and sometimes incredible response to a topic is wonderful. There is no double in my mind that in addition to helping people catch fish, we have saved lives and property with timely advice or warnings.

I don't have any trouble finding the things I need, and I can ignore the other threads or topics on lakes or other rivers that I'm not interested in. The diversity is what makes it so good, as well as entertaining. It certainly cuts down the number of sites I go to for information.

Don't forget that it's the people that really make the forum come alive. I've only met a few of the people who post here, and putting a face to a "handle" is great, but being able to share with all those I don't know, whether or not we ever meet on the water, is still very rewarding. I must say I usually appreciate their attempts at humor.

Phil, keep up the good work, and remember Jimmy Dugan once said: "It's suppossed to be hard. If it was easy, everyone would do it".
