cnr Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I agree that there should be a limit to what to expect from a warranty. 2 years is a long time, but $25 is also a lot to spend on a lure. My thought is if it doesn't show any obvious signs of abuse and looks new'ish send it back. We're not talking about a cheapo lure, this is high dollar stuff, for that expense I expect some good customer service. Plus, it never hurts to ask. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Jbrant Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 I hadn't thought of it that way (being two years old). Then again, I didn't ask them to replace it - just sent them a note asking what I could do with it. I also don't fish much in the winter. I might get two or three trips in a year in the late winter or early spring. I bet I haven't thrown that thing more than 6-7 days on the water. I was a little surprised they volunteered to possibly replace it.
Members rs00765605 Posted January 19, 2013 Members Posted January 19, 2013 There are a couple guys over in Battlefield who are wizards at reparing baits and make a small fortune each year fixing Megabass bills for $8.00, but I've taken all kinds of broken baits, busted balsa baits, warts, ect to them and most of the time they work as good or better than new. The Megabass can be made to run about 1 foot deeper than out of the box. They can also make all kinds of cutom baits as well. PM me for their contact info.

Members rs00765605 Posted January 21, 2013 Members Posted January 21, 2013 Call Allan McMillin at A&J Custom Baits 417-839-2812 for Megabass repar. He can give you shipping/drop off instructions. I just got off the phone with him and I was mistaken on the price...he went up to $11 for reparing the bills. He also told me that he is looking to buy old floating Rogues if anyone has any they are willing to sell, give him a call also.
ozarkgunner Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 I'd pay $8 but $11 is getting close to what I have in mine. I picked up a bunch for $15 this fall. Angler At Law
Bill Babler Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 If you look around right now it seems $19.00 to 22.50 can be found. If you go to the St. Louis Sports show you can usually pick them up on Sunday pretty reasonable. I bought a dozen the other day for $21 bucks and they were the new 110 +1 We are getting them painted as we speak. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
huntest Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Bill, who do you have paint your lures? Do you have some "go to" colors for your jerk baits?
ozarkgunner Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Best deal I ever found was $15 at sportsmans outlet in Dec. I'll never see that type of deal again. Angler At Law
