Gavin
Probably no bass because suckers dont hold in the same areas..Suckers are open water fish, not structure orientated like bass. That should also tell you that most bass gigging IS intentional. Glad to read that MDC caught a bunch of bad apples. Hope they lose there boats & trucks. Chief Grey Bear
So you don't think they pass by any structured water? And of course bass gigging is intentional. Terrierman
How many nights would it take to clean out a good hole anyway. I mean if someone were so intentioned. Not many.
jbtiwns30
Back on the subject of keeping fish and not keeping fish. I don't keep bass myself, I will keep cat fish, crappies, brown trout, brook trout, sun fish and I will throw back all bass and carp and rainbow trout, rainbow trout taste like crap, you might as well eat carp. But who are we to judge or say if someone wants to keep bass. If they really need to feed their family and need meat who cares as long as its legal. They are paying for their license its their right. I dont see anything wrong with it. Plus if you care so much about your bass fisheries, you would stop using soft plastic baits or just use them that.are biodegradable. Ive seen first hand what happens to bass or fish that swallows a plastic worm or lizzard. A bass that is 23 inches long should weigh around 5 lbs but it only weighs 2 lbs. They took 10 bass in that size each one had some soft plastic baits in them and they cant digest it. It kils them slowly. So who is doing more damage? That is why some states are passing bills to ban the baits and guess what missouri is looking into it as well.
405z06
So who is doing more damage? That is why some states are passing bills to ban the baits and guess what missouri is looking into it as well. Huh? So the fella who is limiting out on smallmouth several times a month to "ahem" feed his family is doing less harm than me, who keep nothing and takes great care to realease quickly? Let's say I am responsible for the death of one smallie a month, due to gut-hook, over-stress, having a fish consume a soft plastic that ended on the bottom of the river, whatever. The math is still pretty much in my favor, no?

countryred
Years ago, I was staying in Kimberling City visiting a buddy of mine who was fishing the BASS Elites and while they were out fishing I drove up to a small town, Galena, I think ,and caught several decent smallmouths around the boat ramp and an old bridge. Drifting zoom critter craws in the current with a 1/8 oz wt. It was in september if I remember right.
