Just wondering what the thoughts are on how the White Bass will react to all the warm weather and low water. Will it cause them to make their run early and where will they go? Does the length of day help trigger them? Just something to think about. It sure is nice to be able to sit on the deck and clean and respool reels in early February. Duck.

probably not real early. But they will shoal up farther down stream than normal. Think as the channel depth, what was it when you caught them last year and start looking for that depth this year. Easy.

Last year the males made it look like the run would be early. They did this until it got close to time for the real run which was kind of a bust IMO. I went virtually every other day starting in February and only saw a lot of fish being caught on 3 occasions. When it was time for them to be there it was really spotty. I have wondered if the run got spread out so much that the numbers at any one time were low?

I suspect that the females are locked in as too there time to run because of the development of their eggs.

With norfork being as low as it is I dont know how good the white bass spawn will be. the creeks they usually go up to spawn are almost dry.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

It's hard to say at this point. They scatter their eggs and they need a few days of normal flow to be successful. The problem here is that all to often we get a frog choker about the time the females come up and the eggs get washed into the lake. The spawn should have been successful last year, even if fishing sucked, because the flow was pretty much consistent.
