Wayne SW/MO Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Mic I think maybe there were two different takes on your question. One take, mine, was very generally with no other issues, just the question literally. The other was one spawned off the survival thread where you might be faced with only one option because of accessibility or survival needs. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Your right, just ignorance on my part about what a 10-22 was.
mic Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 It's a Ruger 10-22. It's a 22 caliber semiautomatic rifle. I call it the boy scout gun cause it's smaller in size and is one if not the most popular/commonly bought rifle of all time. Great for new shooters. It's a staple in the gun world. I see. So the 10 represents a series number of some sort. I'll have to check that out. Another one like the 10-22... my best friend had was a 22 - 410 under over. Not a repeating weapon, but my best friend's father (gentalman farmer) didn't need repeating rounds for hitting squirrels .
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Mic the over under that you describe was popular at one time among rabbit and squirrel hunters. It was considered a single shot by most however, the 22 for sitting shots and the shotgun for running. As was said the Ruger 10-22 is an extremely popular semi auto and I believe the all time best seller. Part of it's popularity stems from the fact that you can add after market item on your kitchen table including barrels, trigger assembly's and stocks with no special tools. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I believe the 10 stands for the 10 round magazine that comes with the gun. I believe that fishing is usually better when there is a full moon. People are more crazy when there is a full moon. Thank God He made fish the way He did so I can have better fishing when people are crazier than normal.
