ozarkgunner Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 How often do you guys wax your bass boats? I'm in the once a year crowd. Angler At Law
Ranger520vx Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I usually wax mine every spring with a good marine wax and then try to wipe it down after every outing.
Quillback Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I wipe mine down in the parking lot right after I put it on the trailer. I always have on hand some spray on/wipe off boat cleaner/wax. Whenever I'm bored I'll go out in the garage and spot clean the boat.
DChance Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I don't wax. I use Bow to Stearn. I have used BTS for years now and I LOVE it. It does wonders all over the boat, inside and out, and don't forget to use it on your vehicles!! BTS is a polymer sealant that can be used in place of wax and only needs to be applied once a month or so. Otherwise just wipe down with a damp towel aftter pulling off the water.
Dutch Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 I put 3 coats on to start with and only reapply maybe 3 or 4 times per year. I just wipe with a wet cloth and dry with an old towel. I wait till I am home to do that.
Dutch Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Dutch, where to you buy yours at? I don't remember where it came from. I couldn't find any locally so I bought a gallon off the internet about a year ago. I think it will last at least 10 years as little as it takes to cover the boat when I reapply it. Do you need some?
DChance Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 No, thanks. I am sponsored by them so if you need any more just give me holler. Same company that makes KVD Line and Lure Condidtioner. another great product. Glad to hear you like it though. It won't last so long if you realize everything you can use it on. it is addicting. lol. I have used it on my camper, camper awning, golf cart, shower, countertops, football helmets, rain gear (mold and mildew prevention), boat carpet (stains come up easier). rods, vehicles inside and out, and many more.....lol. enjoy.
