Who would I talk to to get a good forecast for opening day at Bennett? Someone who has a shop there close to the park who would know conditions, esp after the snow they just had.

Definitely Charlie Reading at Reading's fly shop, he is the most knowledgeable around and has a shop just a mile or so up the road.

No Charlie hasn't fished Bennett in probably 40 years. I don't know exactly what information you need, but someone at Larry's or Weaver's would probably be your best bet. Jim Rogers, maybe? Larry's still has the same owner and most of the same crew. Weavers has changed hands a couple of times and I know the present owners aren't newcomers to the area, but I don't know if their knowledge fits what you need. Rogers is another old timer, but you might have to take what he tells you with a dose of salt.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Can you be more specific about what you want to know?

Conditions basically. I want someone from one of the shops to give us information to post on the forum/site. Weaver's site has a lot of info. Wanted to call and talk to / record and post the voice report.

I've emailed a couple of people. Waiting for responses.

Thanks

I don't know if he is fishing, but I seem him down there all the time checking out the creek, rises, and talking to folks. My two cents, stick with the classics... hare's ears, phesant tails, princes, woolys, eggs, and cracklebacks...and white/brown roaches for local favorites. Same thing for drys...classics. If the fish are biting one of those will work.

Don't they have a camera installed on the river. If not, ask Oneshot.

I would imagine Rogers would be interested in that. He and Larry's staffs are right there.
