Dutch Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 With the hit and miss snow and rain does anyone know what it is like down there? Did rain wash a bunch of gunk into the lake? Is the water clear or muddy? Is there snow on the ground? Are the ramps at K Dock, Beaver Creek and River Run accessible? What is the water temp?
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 rain? snow? a little, very little. The creeks didn't rise very fast and what I saw were running clear and not very high. We never had snow on the ground really, a little sleet and snow adding up to about a 1/2 inch. I haven't seen the lake since the moisture, but I would be shocked if it wasn't clear. I know it is low. River Run and Shadow Rock ramps are fine. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Dutch Posted March 2, 2013 Author Posted March 2, 2013 Thanks Wayne. I'll pass that along to a couple of guys who plan to go Sunday or Monday. I did notice that the lake seems to be coming up a bit and is only 5' low now.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Yes it is and it needed it. I haven't stood lakeside so clarity is not something I can post on, but Bull and Swan were up just a little and clean. Just for your reference, before the rains you could walk to the rockpile from the Empire side. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Paco Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 The rock pile is approximately 50 yards below the cable downstream of the dam.
Paco Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Here are some pics of the "Pot Hole" when the lake was really low several years ago
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Here's one from this year, not much difference. Last year you couldn't see the rockpile. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
