Hojo Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Anybody getting out paddling for some bronze backs this weekend? I'm stuck w/ honey-dos, but planning a trip for next Saturday in SW MO, if the weather holds up.
Terrierman Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 James on Saturday. Saturday being 3/9/13. Probably put in at Shelvin.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 I suspect they will still be in deeper water, but probably getting more in the chasing mood. It should be worth the trip. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
mzrealfish Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 Going to the Gasconade Wednesday through Friday. Would love to see 50 degree water. Will report back next week. Mark
Terrierman Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 I drove over the river today at Galena. Beautiful to see some nice water in it. Really looking forward to getting the bottom of the boat wet on Saturday.
Hojo Posted March 8, 2013 Author Posted March 8, 2013 Chance of some halfway warm rain coming this weekend and then good temps most of next week might turn the bite on.
Members Calwood kid Posted March 9, 2013 Members Posted March 9, 2013 You'll find them in the current just below the deep holes. Caught 19 today and the best ones were burping up shad. Use shad imitations and let it sink. Give your baits some stop and go action. Worked well for me.
Brian Jones Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Caught this one on a Pointer this weekend out of Big River. It measured 18 1/4".
