I've been out the last three days. The wind has kept me relegated to the east end of the lake. Have had no luck what so ever. A few missed fish, landed one spot. Feels like that cold front did a number on the fishing. The next few days should improve the fishing greatly with the increase in temps. Anyone been over to the James river area? And if so, how's that been?

Fished Bridgeport for 3 hours today caught 8 4 keepers on a wiggle wart didn't make it to the mouth of the James or flat. Plan on trying to make it up that way tomorrow. The water is really stained so I ran to Woolley no farther. Thanks to everyone on here for all the great info every day.... I know it personally make me a better fisherman.

Thanks for the report. Feel free to share anytime. Any report is a good one, sometimes especially when things are tough.

We fished out of Shell Knob on Saturday and Sundary morning. First time on that part of the lake for us.

Started in Mill Creek Saturday morning. Caught two in here, one keeper, both on the Alabama rig. Both came off of channel banks towards the back of the creek. Bounced around a lot - moving towards the dam - and caught our only fish on a jerkbait in mid afternoon. We went back to Mill Creek and caught 4 more off the Alabama rig almost in the back of the creek - all grouped up in one little spot. We finished the day with 7 fish, 2 keepers, biggest went a little over 3.

We fished Sunday morning from around the bridge up past the mouth of the Kings. Caught 4 more early, 2 keepers, all on the Alabama Rig and didn't have another bite the rest of the morning. Those fish were on a channel bank and the secondary point adjacent to it.

All of our fish were relating to trees, in at least 12' of water. The wind didn't seem to make a big difference. Water temps were much warmer Sundary morning (pushing 49) then at any point Saturday - which I was suprised by. We threw a wiggle wart quite a bit with the cloudy skies and rain on a secondary point and on channel banks and never had a bite. Saw some balls of shad in the coves on Saturday - up near the surface.

Had a good day in the James river arm yesterday fishing from rail hollow and north of there. Spots where moving up on shallow tapering gravel points leading into the bays. Water temps anywhere from high 48's to low 50's. All on slow rolling and grinding cranks. Chartreuse DT14's were the hot ticket. Wanted that tight wiggle over other baits such as fat free shad crankbaits which have a wider wobble. Hope this helps someone.

If they are already so picky, this is gona be a tough year. Usually when those fish start moving up in the water column they will snatch at most anything.

Thanks so much for the detailed report, very good information.

Well...if the water stays down they are for sure going to see more baits going past them this year. Let's hope they were just being snob fish.

Ready for 5-6 inches of really warm rain, all in a 24-hour period. That would get em going.

I'll give you an amen for that. Guys will be sight fishing so close to each other they can share sandwiches back and forth if there isn't some more lake in the lake come April.
