On The Fly 6 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 So, I'm wanting to do a float/overnight trip on Easter weekend with my dad. Any suggestions on where to put in or stay while there? duckydoty Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 ROLF is a fantastic place to stay and a great place to put in if your staying there. Mr. Brian Wise should be able to give you some good advice on this topic. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Nighthawk Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 My son, Rusty Doughty, also guides out of ROLF. He provides home cooked pot roast or chicken n dumplings for shore lunches:)
Justin Spencer Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I know where I'd stay. :-) "The problem with a politician’s quote on Facebook is you don’t know whether or not they really said it." –Abraham Lincoln Tales of an Ozark Campground Proprietor Dead Drift Fly Shop
ollie Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Sunburst is a great choice IMO.! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
sean c Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Hard to beat Sunburst. Just an FYI there is a large fraternity group that usually camps and floats that weekend out of another campground so expect higher than normal canoe traffic for that time of year. If your floating and wading watch the cfs anything over 1000 and wading becomes pretty difficult and the river can get high this time of year. If I could only fish the NFOW one month a year it would be April so you are hitting it at a good time. Have fun.
Justin Spencer Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 If you are worried about the frat group have your outfitter call Pettit's to find out what section his group is floating and they should be able to get you where the big group isn't. If your outfitter won't do that for you he's no good. ness Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 http://www.sunburstranchcanoe.com I've always dealt with Amy there. She's real nice. There's a dude that works for her -- name escapes me at the moment -- he's ok too I guess. John
