Yeah I've heard them called jointed rapala, double back or broken back. I like those from about 2 or 3 hours before sunset til dark. Mid day I like the curly tail pitched into a deep hole up against the bank, in the shade or around deeper structure. Just bring the line tight and watch to see if the line is moving. Many times you can feel the bite, but let him run just a little bit with it.

Thanks, might have to give it a try. I am used to fishing for largemouths on heavy line in dirty water. This finnese smallmouth fishing is fun.

One of the cool things is being able to see the fish before catching them .

I'd bet pickled pickerel would be something worth giving a whirl and that would deal with the bones in a very tasty way.

Just reading it now. I am not sure how crowded it gets in the summer but I know it has to be better than the Eminence area.

I really like the area. Had a nice visit with one of the neighbors down there. She was telling me about the rattlesnakes, copperheads, and mountain lions in her yard.

Thanks Al,

I don't mind them as long as I see them in time. We have a fair amount of copperheads here. Some of them have an attitude. My wife's not fond of any of them so she carries her Ruger with her.

I am sure there is some of all those snakes with all the downed trees and rock piles on our new property.
