gotmuddy Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 There is a shoal just above the bridge where a lot are caught. I bet you could get somebody to do a driftboat float down from either dawt or Cook's on Bryant, if they are running good a half day on trout and an evening float for whites would sure be tempting. My buddy Brandon keeps on top of the whites/stripers, so I bet he'd be willing to go also, he has a driftboat as well. you wouldnt have to do any talking to get me on the bryant in any kind of boat. hell, if we can get my riverboat in we can take it down. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Brian Sloss Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I am planning to be there for at least part of it. May only be able to come Fri, will have to see about Sat. I'll come Fri as long as there is someone to fish with on Fri. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

I might take you up on that. If its powered, and I believe it is one might go up? I haven't been to Cook in several years and I don't know how good the ramp is, but I'm sure Justin and Brian do. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

OKFlyFisher44 Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 We will be making an appearance as well! Won't arrive till late on friday night. I will be dragging my drift boat down and my buddy Corey might be coming down as well with his drift boat, I need to check with him! Can't wait to see everyone and get back out on the NFOW. Our last trip was great a few weeks ago! As of right now, my boat is full but all my guys can row pretty well so we can shuffle around possibly if need be... Chance ...I'm haunted in my dreams of waters I have yet to fish and trout I have yet to catch... Chasing the Dream...

Good deal, between the boats and rowers we have coming I think we will have room for probably anywhere between 4-8 "newbies" that will get to fish from a driftboat. For those of you coming alone or with a buddy, those of us who have driftboats prefer to have their boats full so we can smack the fish as much as possible, with only one person in the boat you always feel like you are leaving fish behind, so please join us in the drifters. It will spoil you and make you want one of your own, and you will see why the guides are getting good money to take people out in these things. Wayne SW/MO Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 I've had a drift boat, in OR, and there's no doubt they're fishing machines. I made a trip in the one you had Justin and the only thing was that I thought the level was barely enough, but yet McKee was all but too low? Did I miss something? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

The river is never too low for a drifter but obviously you prefer higher flows. If the flows were high enough that you couldn't get under McKee in Justin's boat you had pretty high flows Patrick bridge is another story.

The only catch is my boat is beer operated so make sure you bring plenty of fuel to feed the engine.
