Jason R. Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I want to name him Wulff- wife wants to name him Wilson- either way, I'm pretty pumped. To be fair, I did get him for my wife for her birthday... http://flyinthesouth.com/
Guest Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I am sure he will bring you years of happiness. My boat dog is a great fishing buddy, and always seems to bring me good luck.
cnr Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 That's easy, let the wife win! Pick your battles. Nice looking pup.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Cute. My dog goes everywhere with me, well everywhere dry, he hates water. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
BilletHead Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nice looking pup you have there Jason, Yes I told my wife our dog was for her too Spend a bunch of time with the dog and you will be rewarded by the best fishing partner you could ever imagine. We rescued our dog sadie from the humane society and she would just fit into my two hands. She is now eight. Spoiled she is, wish she would retreive my waterfowl but too much cattle dog in her. She will round up the grand kids though! mic Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 You guys are so lucky. I have a wippet mix (site hound), and she is great dog. However, if she see's something running, she is gone. Let me tell you, she can cover a half mile in nothing flat. I've lost and found her twice, so she stays indoors now.
Outside Bend Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Nice Pup Jason, looks like a good one! I'm sure you two will have a blast in the coming years. <{{{><
Jason R. Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks fellas! He is a good one- already learned to sleep in his kennel (just for now) and he is almost house broken. Key word is almost- he peed on my carpet about 10 minutes ago. Oh well, I would pee anywhere and everywhere if I could too. Any tips on keeping him from nibbling/chewing everything? http://flyinthesouth.com/

He is cutting teeth so not much you can do besides lots of chew bones and toys. Stay away from stuff dog animals and socks if you have kids because it will teach them it is ok to attack toys clothes. My recommendation is to try the small kongs. You can buy the spray stuff, but I nomally break up a small dog bone and mix it with peanut butter and then put that into top of the opening. Not only does it give them something to chew on it will keep them busy for a while, and you can play fetch with it also.
