Picked up my new tracker targa 18 yesterday couldn't wait to get it out so on my way home I stopped a Stockton. I upgraded to the 36 volt I pilot. and put a 1198 HB SI on console and 858 on the bow. Gonna take some time to get used to all the gadgets for this old country boy. My question about jerk baits what kind are they using to catch walleye this time of year? And what colors?

Thanks Ed

You should be able to troll all day with that 36 volt bow mount! Since you already have HB graphs, I'd be saving my pennies to upgrade to the I-Pilot Link for next season! As far as jerk baits, I'd try throwing a clown colored smithwick suspending rogue. Have heard black back with silver belly rogue has been working as well. Enjoy the boat, feel free to post a picture!!!

Hey Ed, I saw you there yesterday, I was the guy near the fence that asked you if you were seeing anything on the graph! I went home with a couple keeper walleye and tossed back a short one. There were several caught along the bank, and a couple females as well. The Clown suspending rogue is a favorite for many off the bank, but as I didn't have one I caught them on a suspending rebel of some chrome, green, purple color. But at least one was caught on a grub and one on a shad rap that I know of. Should get nothing but better. Get the rogue down to depth and keep it there with occasional twitches, some guys fish it with hard jerks like for bass but many were doing better with a much slower retrieve.

I love my Targa. Watch the paint on the botton of the boat, mine peeled and I got a new paint job. The I pilot really seems to drain my batteries. Not sure what the difference is. I'm not sure what a walleye is so no help there. :)

My boat doesn't have paint on the bottom, if it did it wouldn't for long fishing Truman as much as I do. Just got back from below the dam at Warsaw, had 26 crappie 20 were keepers and 2 times that many white bass. My uncle kept his limit. I didn't keep any waiting for some toothy fish. Sure was good to get the new boat smell of the new boat. I believe the wife and I are coming to Stockton to fish Monday or Tuesday. Thinking of going up the lake never been south of the flats on the big sac at 5 to 7 mm.
