A search on Bull Shoals Lake near Point 19 for a missing Theodosia-area fisherman has been scaled back after the man was reported missing late Monday night.

Brendon James, 44, is presumed drowned. His boat was found floating along the shoreline about a mile from the family's private dock located on Bull Shoals Lake just southwest of Dugginsville near Peel.

Thoughts and prayers go out to that family. I know exactly what they are going through. Very very important to wear that vest when the temps are this cold still.

There is most likely a lesson here. I probably shouldn't speculate, but in my many years of hearing about these things they are more often then not someone falling into cold water and unable to extract themselves fast enough.

Canoeing or kayaking in cold water can also be fatal if one isn't prepared to be able to reach shore before hypothermia kicks in and shuts down muscles.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

searchers found a pair of boots on the bank , looked as though they were placed there, boat was found drifting in Big Cedar Creek, boots found in Little cedar, speculation is he went in the woods to do his business then when he came back found his boat floating and tried to swimming to it
