nwaoutdoorsman Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I've had reports of whites being caught from the mouth of the war eagle to a mile past the sidewalk hole. One guy reported catching a hundred a day schooling in the war eagle over the weekend. Another reported yesterday that the area around point 12 had 30-40 boats scattered around and they were all catching whites and stripers. I haven't heard any reports out of the white river, but I would assume from the mouth of the river to blue springs would be a good area to look for whites. After the weather breaks in a few days they should go the rest of the way up both rivers next week granted we don't get another cold front. As of right now the weather looks great for next week.
npierceuark Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I'm still stuck to the bank for another few weeks so I went and checked out twin bridges, Neil's Bluff and blue springs access, saw a fair amount of boats out but didn't sound like anyone was tearing them up. Ended up fishing blue springs and found some crappie around any brush that was 10' deep. Just slow crawling a black and chartreuse tube across the bottom. Ended up with about 6 that could have made the frying pan but didn't feel like cleaning fish. Quite a few small ones in the mix but fun nonetheless.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 They still in the lower third of the river arms or have they moved up?
npierceuark Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 Giving it a whirl tomorrow, I'll give an update. I'm going to start at twin and work my way down. May try some night fishing under the lights.
Sore Thumbs Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 Not sure u are gonna get too far if u put in at twin unless u have a canoe.
npierceuark Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 My two legs will be taking me where I need to go. Another couple weeks till my boat gets in.
jdelow77 Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 What's the water temp in the river arms ? Anyone ?

npierceuark Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Found some, night fished over by pt 12, minnows right off the bottom
Sore Thumbs Posted April 7, 2013 Author Posted April 7, 2013 They are about 2 miles up river from there too. Went way up and found nothing. Water temp was as high as 58.1. Lots of boats in war eagle today. Flw pros, Castmasters tourney and a bunch of white bass and crappie hunters. Not a lot of catching going on.
