Quillback Posted April 9, 2013 Posted April 9, 2013 Were is Blunks located? It's up Aunts creek.....just kidding, I don't know where it is.
Members Cracken0812 Posted April 9, 2013 Members Posted April 9, 2013 I think its up James, but do not know how far up it is or is it boat accessible? Was hoping someone could clear that up for me since I have heard about it but have never been there. Going to try to rip some lips on whites this weekend as well. Thanks for the help.
Members jcioni Posted April 9, 2013 Author Members Posted April 9, 2013 Blunks is located on the James River just below Galena and above Ashers Cane Bottom. It is accessible by boat. There is also a ramp there, but can be difficult on take out due to swift water. I'm going there after work tonight, so I'll post later about results.
Members jcioni Posted April 10, 2013 Author Members Posted April 10, 2013 Went tonight, got there around 5:30pm. A guy was leaving with his limit of sows. Said he released about 40 fish. Caught them on gray jig. He started at 1pm. We didn't have much luck. Caught just a couple of whites. Not much going on and left about 8:30pm. Water condition was clear and good flow. Didn't see many fish being caught. Appears they were hitting earlier in the day. Isn't that how it works with white bass?
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Were is Blunks located? You can get to it from a road on the west side of Galena, If you pull up a Google map you can find it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
