They were biting good yesterday. A buddy and I limited in about thirty minutes. Little slower today, still managed a nice limit. They all got returned to the river as I am tired of cleaning fish. Got them by the old steel bridge.

The pics of the fish on the stringer are probably from yesterday, not today. He went fishing both days.

Thanks for your concern. I always appreciate a good lecture on fishing ethics on the internet. Let me clarify. The fish in the pic, were cleaned(to save as much meat as possible, some were frozen and then some were fried). The fish not in the picture, that I caught the next day, were all released upon catch. I actually gave each one a little massage to ensure their health. lol

I am very glad these guys are taking the Whites out of the Lake. If they didn't Stockton could turn into "Grand Lake". Uh-Huh, THEN what would we do????

There are limits set by the STATE CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT to manage the population of species inside the water of the lake. If a person wanted to they could catch their 15 whites then slit their throats and throw them up on the roof of their truck and bake in the sun for 10 days then throw them in the ditch if they wanted to. I mean that would be wrong, but the limits are set for a reason, to manage the LAKE population. No where does it way that you have to clean them and eat them..you can use the flesh for sandals and start a nice maggot colony with the carcases if you want. Either way it's none of anyones business.

I agree with you that it's none of their business. But you are also wrong in what you say.

I'm picking up on the sarcasm. But when was the last time you had that much fun fishing for trout or Smallmouth?

I just think our native species that are doing so well WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE deserve the same concern as the ones we have to spend time, money, and worry about all the time.

"Oh, here's a fish that is doing good all on its own....lets load the freezer with them while the gettin's good."

Nothing wrong with a few fish frys, but massive numbers of anglers hauling them out by the bucketfuls until they are just " too tired to clean anymore fish" is a bad habit. I don't care what the legal limit is, it's wrong.

What happens when the whites have a bad year (like happened at Pomme) ? When will they come back? What was that, like 3-4 years ago? How's the white bite on Pomme? Nobody knows, cuz they ain't caught enough to know.

what does a person do to make white bass edible ? I have tried to eat them and found them to taste pretty bad.. I've tried to cut the dark part off which I found to be a pain.. some people say put mustard on them and then they are tolerable. tried that too and they still take " not so good". I just through them back but I love the they fight..any help would be appreciated.. thanks
