dtrs5kprs Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Today was beautiful but a bit of a grind fish wise. Ned rig continues to produce fish. Also dragging the fish doc and scrubbing the smoke grub. Grub fish were mostly blacks, on and just off spawn banks. If not for the impending weather think the TW would get going. Temps around 60 at Kimberling. Would recommend flatter vs steeper, but others may feel differently. Good to see Butch and Dave from up Michigan way. Know they are following the reports here. Hope the fish docs helped them out. Also good to run into Bill at the ramp. Will let him tell you about his day. If not for the front coming I think there would be some good movement in.
Members Ranger519 Posted April 23, 2013 Members Posted April 23, 2013 It was good to finally meet you today too Dave. Another BBS acquaintance. Thanks for all your help with figuring out patterns. After we saw you we caught a few toward the back of that bay on a variety of baits, the Doc and sinkos. Looking forward to the rest of the week.

Should be able to find the Dr 's at Ozark 's B&T in Kimberling or Mark 's shop on business 13 . BPS does not have the watermelon/red. Finished with 3 keepers, probably 15 shorts. Fisher did not excite me. Did the flatter places work out for you? If all day lightning I will be headed BPS way, and maybe sportsman's.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 may i ask what is the NED rigA 1/16oz to 1/8oz head with small hook (like a #2) with a plastic about 2&1/2". Usually a cut Zinkerz, Zero, or Senko. Fished shallow and on 6# line. On kindle, so can't send a pic. Search "Midwest Finesse" or "Ned Rig " here. Excellent when things get tough. Fantastic when they are not tough.
Members Ranger519 Posted April 23, 2013 Members Posted April 23, 2013 Yea, the flatter banks are definitely the best. We caught a few in each of the side cuts back in fishers. Kind of slow though, two or three bites and then nothing for an hour. We are probably not fishing at all tomorrow. The plan is for everyone to head to BPS and Lamberts tomorrow. We have a big group and it seems like we have to do everything together. Its a pain to herd everyone the same direction.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 23, 2013 Author Posted April 23, 2013 Which size Senko, et al, do you cut?Regular 5" size. The elaztech baits only come in one size. They are a much better option than a senko or finger. Softer, better action, last longer, and cheaper.
