Guest Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 For those of you who reel it like a grub, have you tried a kalins darter head? How does the gopher out perform the other jigheads like the Arkie? Im asking bc I have no idea.

More like a cross between Deadsticking live bait and the slowest, least active shskey head ever. There are times they will eat it swimming, but less than 10% maybe. Most fish come dragging, deadsticking, shaking ever do slightly.
dtrs5kprs Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Stupid kindle. Peeprl will thenk I can't spel.
Guest Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 What about one of these Zappu Mustang Heads for the Zman?? Its 1/16oz with a #2 hook and a fine wire guard. It stands up on the bottom & wobbles on the retrieve, heck it might even wobble on slack line as it falls. I realize they're expensive, but I want a jighead/worm combo that I can catch 50 bass without changing it out. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Zappu_Mustang_Head_3pk/descpage-ZMUSH.html
dtrs5kprs Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Trophy ...you don't need fancy. Caught in the 60-70 range on it yesterday with 4 keeps, and never changed the head or the bait. Looks pretty rough but I quit before it did. Even a crappie head will work. If you don't want to make one, the gopher and the outkast heads will both work. Ned uses the gopher with the low end bronze hooks, never sharpens, and runs them until they rust to pieces.
